Rosewood Schloss Fuschl to Welcome First Guests in July

Rosewood is adding yet another elegant hotel to its ever-growing collection on the banks of Lake Fuschl in Austria. Set within a 15th-century castle that once served as the grand hunting lodge and summer residence for the Archbishop of Salzburg, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl is set to welcome its first guests on July 1, 2024 – and is already accepting bookings.

The tranquil alpine escape was made into a hotel in the 1950s. It quickly cemented its reputation as one of the most exclusive properties in Austria, counting film stars and foreign dignitaries among its star-studded clientele.

Now, Rosewood has taken over the property, carrying out an extensive revamp before the grand reopening. The castle features 98 opulent guestrooms including 42 suites and six chalets. Interiors are pared-back yet luxurious and many of the accommodations boast stunning views across the emerald-green lake and snowcapped mountains.

Elsewhere at Rosewood Schloss Fuschl, guests can dine at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant and unwind at the Asaya Spa – a sprawling wellness sanctuary complete with eight treatment rooms, an indoor and heated infinity outdoor pool and fitness center.

Of course, the real draw is the breathtaking location. From hiking in the surrounding forests to e-biking through the mountains or having high tea and strudel in a charming alpine hut, there is plenty to keep guests entertained.

“As we prepare for the opening of this peaceful lakeside resort, we look forward to offering guests an authentic and exclusive experience for the wellness enthusiast, naturalist epicurean, cultural aficionado and more,” said Sascha Hemmann, managing director of Rosewood Schloss Fuschl. “As a living chapter of Austrian heritage, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl connects the past and present by perfectly harmonizing tradition, with the pleasure of modern luxury.”
