The globally leading photography exhibition, Photo London, is making its return to the UK capital for its ninth edition. From Wednesday, May 15 to Sunday, May 19, more than 120 exhibitors will take over Somerset House to showcase fresh perspectives in the medium.

Spilt into a Public Program, workshops and a dynamic line-up of talks, this year’s fair will feature works from more than 400 photographers from over 30 countries, ranging from the personal to the political; social documentary to the glamorous worlds of fashion, music and travel

Global voices are at the heart of this year’s exhibition, with 10 New York galleries showing at this year’s exhibition and eight galleries from Turkey. Meanwhile, the significant number of solo female photographers shine through as contemporary luminaries. Exhibitors such as Lydia Goldblatt, Jacquie Maria Wessels and Siân Davey are presented alongside 20th-century greats like Lee Miller and Helen Levitt.

Four exhibitions make up Photo London’s Public Program, including from presenting partner Belmond which makes its return to the fair following its debut last year. Shifting Horizons is an evolution from the Belmond Legends series, which celebrates and is led by female artists who are championing new perspectives in travel photography.

This year’s presentation features work by Coco Capitán, Letizia Le Fur and Rosie Marks, with each body of work shot at three distinct Belmond locations, including the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express in Europe (Capitán), at the hotel Caruso on Italy’s Amalfi Coast (Le Fur) and Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town (Marks).

Meanwhile, Silent Stories is a solo exhibition showcasing the work of French photographer Valérie Belin, who has been awarded Photo London Master of Photographer 2024 for her contribution to the art.
