Aman Unveils First Standalone Branded Residences in Tokyo

Aman Tokyo Residences

Aman has opened its first standalone branded residential project, the Aman Residence, Tokyo.

The residences sit at the heart of the newly opened Azabudai Hills development, a self-described “city within a city” that includes the Aman Tokyo hotel, restaurants, shops and galleries in the cultural heart of the Japanese capital.

The 91 fully serviced apartments crown the very top 11 floors of the Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower, the tallest residential building in Japan designed by the Pritzker prized architecture firm Pelli Clarke & Partners.

While they are considered standalone residences, owners will benefit from hotel-like programming and extensive amenities, including access to the Lounge, bar, private dining room, tea room and the Aman Spa – which features a pool, sauna, steam, relaxation and treatment rooms, and an expansive gym.

Ensuring the residence’s interiors are equally showstopping, international design studio Yabu Pushelberg drew inspiration from the elements to ensure a sense of grounding and serenity for the residences within the bustling metropolis.

Working to unite the Aman aesthetic of Asian style with European influences, authentic references to Japanese architecture play alongside a Western sensibility to texture, comfort and warmth. The overall effect is a soft, ethereal environment, one that celebrates the understated elegance of Aman and its new home in Tokyo.

Throughout the shared spaces, there is the punctuation of the elements; water, air, fire and earth. Earth tones and muted colors root the Aman Residences, Tokyo back to nature, while the extensive and considered art collection brings an additional dimension to the property.

Prospective owners should shield themselves from disappointment as the initial phase of Aman Residences, Tokyo is fully committed.

However, while this may be the first branded residence for the brand, it is likely to be far from the last. Since opening its first in 1988, Aman now boasts 13 branded residence locations, with a further 10 destinations slated to open in the next five years.
